Christopher Cummings was born in Halifax in West Yorkshire, England in the semi-warm summer of 1983. The surrounding countryside turned him into a childhood adventurer, spending long summer days in the late 80's weilding a stick and going vampire hunting in the woods near to his family home. His sister would borrow VHS tapes of Evil Dead and Nightmare on Elm Street which turned out to be the start of a lifelong love affair with the horror genre.
A fan of horror and science fiction through his years in high school, Chris further delved into the fictional worlds created by the likes of Clive Barker, Stephen King and others when he left school. Joining poetry and short story forums online in the late 90's and early 00's was Chris's first foray into the world of writing for pleasure. He spent hours reading independant fiction in it's many forms and fell in love with writing as he reached the end of his teenage years.
He has written hundreds of short stories and attempted many novels, even completed a couple before disliking the end product.
Writing notebook after notebook of ideas, poems, short stories and musings, Chris found a great way of expression in writing and often used it as a way to let of steam and vent about a variety of things that many people vent about in their early 20's. As a reader he began reading other genres of fiction such as fantasy and southern american writings from the likes of William Gay and Cormac McCarthy. It is in his wider scope as a fan that he truly found his voice as a writer and began to take it more seriously.
Blending horror, sci-fi, fantasy and realistic urban drama, he is currently working on a novel in which he is extremely proud of.
He has had poetry published by independant poetry companies and hopes to see a book in print in the not-so-distant future.
Christopher currently lives in Cheshire, England with his fiancee Victoria, spending many evenings watching Doctor Who, critiquing movies from his couch, drinking too much coffee and dreaming in technicolour. He works as a dementia nurse and studies fiction and non-fiction writing with The Writers Bureau part-time.
